David Birol, a.k.a. Humble Youth, was born in 1981. He is a singer, guitarist, bass player and riddim maker. He began to record his first roots reggae songs and instrumentals at the age of 16. Then he joined the Jahspora crew, a sound system and label established in Paris by Manu Jazzpaw and Digital Indian in 1998. His first release on the label Jahspora, "We try", was mixed by Murray Man at Mellow Vibes Studio (Birmingham, England). He also collaborates with Revival Oldies (Paris), I Lion sound system (Paris), ADM (Paris), Absolut Street (Paris), Braveheart (Ocho Rios, Jamaica), King Dub Family (Strictly Vynils Show, Rastafari Souldicate), Ricard Durany from Rec Studio Sessions (Barcelona, Spain), and Arise sound system (Girona, Spain).
Humble Youth is a militant artist, bringing roots and culture to the mic. His music chants down babylon and praises Jah Creation. He sings about truths and rights, good over evil, education for a better livity, and wishes to give hope and strength to the people in their everyday tribulations.
